How to tell if EPROM cartridge is blank.

Post by g7mmj » Thu Sep 17, 2015 5:43 pm

Does anybody know if there's a way to check if an EPROM cartridge (not a Flash cartridge) is completely blank?

Hi Steve

There are a couple of ways you can tell.

1. Use ROMcombiner - see the following wiki link https://cambridgez88.jira.com/wiki/disp ... erlyerased

2. The latest version of OZ (v4.6.1) checks whether the EPROM is properly erased the first time you run Catalogue EPROM in the Filer, which is where it should have been in the first place!

I hope this has helped.

Not using the latest OZ? Take a look at the Z88 User Guide V4.6 and see what you are missing.

Vic.

By 'catalogue EPROM' I assume you mean 'catalogue Filecard'? It just says *END* when I do that.

Yes that is right. If the EPROM is not fully erased it will say so. I don't think I have described this fully n the User Guide yet. It is issue OZ-83 and was fixed in OZ 4.5 See https://cambridgez88.jira.com/browse/OZ-83
